Quimbley’s is committing to bring Sandy Petersen’s Hyperspace to market April 2025. We are in the advanced stages of prototyping. Above is an image of the core game’s civilization sheets and planet tiles on a wood laser cutting machine.
For the plastics we are working closely with a factory the Quimbley's team has known for many years and are confident they can deliver the excellent quality you always expected from Petersen Games’ titles.
Here’s a candid video I took on my phone recently when reviewing some of the prototype pieces.
The prototypes have been reviewed by Petersen Games to ensure it reflects the production quality pieces in all relevant aspects.
Honestly, the very quality of Quimbley’s prototyping (say that three times quickly hehe), is a bit of an over-production. This is a prelude to the overdelivery I’m eagerly anticipating. We gamers love our wood pieces. The feel, the smell and the heft on a game table is unequaled, except perhaps by finely detailed miniatures. Here are some quick, candid shots I took of the Cluethulhu prototype, before it entered production. You can see in close up the quality of printing directly on the wood!
Back to Hyperspace. Sandy’s vision has already been enhanced by a few changes, such as a decision to make the miniature bases hexagonal, and to normalize the consistency of a gray color on the miniatures themselves, with bases (or base rings, in some cases), showing player colors. This will provide a uniform look to the table, rather than a hodgepodge of player color miniatures mixed with gray miniatures on player color bases!
It's hard to overstate Sandy’s own words in his announcement video that this alliance between Quimbley’s and Petersen Games is a perfect fit. He will only be doing what he does best – design games with nearly infinite re-playability and fun. This leaves Quimbley’s to do what they do best – producing and publishing high quality products for you!

I am cautiously optimistic after seeing the above prototype. I look forward to seeing what the quality of the miniatures turns out to be and hope it is the aforementioned “excellent quality”.
Will there be preorders available for folks that weren’t in the OG Kickstarter ?
I can’t wait to see Hyperspace on the table. Super excited for you all.
