Christmas is such a great time of year for a lot of reasons.
You have presents, good will toward men, and a chance to spend time with family and friends.
One other aspect that I particularly like as we approach year's end is the opportunity to reflect on the past year and look ahead toward what you can make of the new one.
Right now we're doing that at Quimbley's.
2024 was our first full year in business. We made some mistakes, learned a few lessons, and did a couple things pretty well. It was exhausting, challenging, fulfilling, and even a bit scary at times. We attempted to bridge gaps in production left behind by Petersen Games and found obstacles we had no idea would impede our progress.
Still, we've rolled with the punches and done our best to not only create the games that Kickstarter backers are waiting for, but design and publish new ones as well.
2024 has been our learning year.
2025 will be our breakout year.
2025 alone will bring at least four new games to the market. It will set us up for years to come, and that is immensely exciting. We have a lot of things planned.
A lot.
Now, I know so many of you are waiting for Petersen Games Kickstarters from five years ago. I will tell you that an update is coming later today regarding our plans for fulfillment. I wish I could say it was as easy as waving a wand and suddenly they were all produced, but I can't do that. These are expensive endeavors that cannot all be tackled at once. Hyperspace (the standard edition at least) will arrive in Q1 of 2025, but from there, we need to sell games and move inventory to complete the next one on that Kickstarter list.
This is a process.
Sometimes it feels like we're fighting Cthulhu himself, standing like Santa Claus on an iceberg. Even so, we will accomplish what we've set out to do.
2024 may be coming to an end, but that means we have 2025 to look forward to. We've learned so much, and the time is coming when these frustrations will be just a memory.
