Cthulhu Has Risen: The Mother of All (Good) Announcements

As Sandy stated, H. C. Quimbley is our secret benefactor and partner. Our new agreement with him and his company precisely addresses Petersen Games' core struggle (i.e., business and distribution) and multiplies our strengths (game design).

But I know you're reading because you want to know the critical details - what does this really mean for YOU, our long-suffering and ever patient backer of one or more of our unfulfilled Kickstarter projects. So here is the nitty gritty:

As part of our exclusive partnership with Quimbley's they will fulfill our backlog of Kickstarter projects, namely Hyperspace®, The Gods War 2, Eternal Adversary, Dinosaur 1944, Return to Planet Apocalypse® and the 2nd edition of Startropolis. They are the ones who cut the gordian knot and got Cthulhu Wars® Onslaught 4 fulfilled.

As many of you know, I oversaw game production at Petersen Games, including working with our manufacturers in China. At Quimbleys there is a team of guys with several decades of combined game and toy manufacturing and engineering experience (including a key member of the team at Kenner in the 1980s critical to the Star Wars toys line). In the past few weeks and months a central task of mine has been to liaison with them and transfer the needed game assets (digital sculpts and printer ready files, etc.), and to communicate the specifications and idiosyncratic needs of the games we have not been able to make yet.

First on deck is Hyperspace. And for this game in particular, check out this blog post I wrote last week. They are further along regarding Hyperspace than I thought they would be by now!

We anticipate an April 2025 delivery for it. Soon you will see a video of a Hyperspace prototype (including prototype miniatures!) being played at Quimbley's with Sandy running the game. I can't wait to show you!

As the tools are made and production continues expect more in this space at Quimbley's regarding the progress until that Hyper-day next April!

Hyperspace is the obvious first choice among our unfulfilled projects, being the oldest. However, many of you might be surprised to learn our plan for the second one is going to be The Gods War 2! Without going too much into detail, we feel that The Gods War hasn't nearly met its demand potential, but more to the point Quimbleys' teams believe this can be delivered not too long after Hyperspace.

Sandy lives a little more than a half hour from Quimbley's headquarters (and I'm less than an hour away). We visit in person frequently and I can tell you they want these games made and into your hands as much as we do! They want lots of radical documentation of the progress as it goes, and I think you'll be pleased with their speed and quality.
